How to wrap a Christmas gift?

Presents are like food—the better they are presented, the more joy they bring. Discover our recipe for serving successful gifts, a formula that has remained unchanged for over 10 years.
As we all know, the first impression is the most important… and you only get to make it once! If you don't agree, think about it: when was the last time you received a gift? Do you remember how it was wrapped? There are tons of ways to wrap presents, and for many of us, a lack of this skill is a source of real discomfort.
For those who are busy, a gift bag or decorative box is a great solution. If, however, you want to put your creativity to the test, then sit back comfortably and read this blog post to the end. As experts in gift socks, we've decided to lift the corner of the curtain and help you find a happy medium, ensuring your presents will always delight the recipient. Regardless of whether it's a big birthday present or a small gift for a first date anniversary!

Christmas is the time of year when one big question comes to mind: how to wrap a Christmas present? If you've tried everything and your gifts still don't look perfect, we're here to help. Years of practice making our loved ones happy have taught us the secret to making a gift look fantastic—just like the popular gift emoji. Make sure you have scissors, tape, a colourful ribbon, and wrapping paper handy—we recommend green or red.
If your gift is a regular shape like a square or a rectangle, the process is quite simple. Other shapes complicate things a bit, but you can still follow the instructions below. Everything ready? Let’s get to it!
Step 1: Measure and cut the paper
Place the gift in the middle of the paper. Fold one side of the paper over so that it covers slightly more than half of the gift's largest surface. Do the same with the other side—both ends of the paper should overlap in the middle by a few centimetres. Cut the paper to this width. Also, make sure you have enough paper on the sides to cover the side walls of the box.
Step 2: Wrap the gift
Place the gift upside down on the cut piece of paper; this way, the seam will be on the bottom. Wrap it tightly, and secure the seam where the paper meets in the middle with a piece of clear tape.
Step 3: Fold the sides
Move to one of the open sides of the gift. Fold the top flap of paper inwards, creating a sharp crease along the edge of the box. Next, fold the triangular side flaps inwards, also making crisp edges. Finally, fold the bottom flap up and secure it with tape. Repeat on the other side.
Step 4: Tie the ribbon
Take a long piece of ribbon and lay it across the middle of the top surface of the gift. Turn the gift upside down, cross the ends of the ribbon, and bring them up the opposite sides. Turn the gift over again and tie an elegant bow on top. You can attach a small card with greetings to it.
And that's it! Congratulations, you've just acquired a new skill, and your loved one has gained the unique experience of opening a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift.

At Rainbow Socks, we have so many ideas on how to pack socks as a gift that we could write a whole separate blog post about it. When we create our sock gifts, our goal is for the packaging to become an integral part of the present. And we're pretty good at it—we've heard rumors that our bestsellers, like the Sushi Socks and Burger Socks, look so appetizing that customers don't even want to unpack them!
We also have products that will steal the hearts of minimalists: socks in elegant hexagonal boxes. Inside, they are arranged in neat triangles, each with a different main theme. Most importantly, they can go straight into the drawer in this organized form. This is a real relief not only for lovers of order but also for anyone whose sock pairs are constantly getting mixed up.

Wondering what to do when you want to give someone a larger gift made up of several of our gift sets? We have a solution for that, too. Feel like the real Santa Claus and pack all your presents together in a festive Christmas sack. You can add one to your order by clicking here or directly in your cart.
