They say that already in antiquity pizza was a delicacy in the region of the Apennine Peninsula. Then, it was reinvented in Naples, where the oldest pizzeria in Italy – dating back to the 18th century – is still operating! The oldest type of pizza is the fishermen's favourite Pizza Marinara. The second most popular, with a universal, basic topping, is Margherita, named after the Queen of Italy, Margherita di Savoia, who really enjoyed eating this particular pizza.
